Unfortunately, I need Netscape 4.7x in order to access my online banking account. I have the netscape-common-4.79-1 and netscape-navigator-4.79-1 RPMs from Valhalla (7.3) installed on a couple of computers loaded with fully up-to-date Shrike (including Arjan's kernel-2.4.20-13.9.1). On my P4 laptop (i686 kernel), it seems to work fine. But on my Athlon desktops, netscape terminates with a bus error. Anyone else seen this? BTW, the netscape script includes the following lines: # This couldn't hurt. export MOZILLA_LINUX_INSERT_LINK_FIX=1 export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 So that particular NPTL issue is not the problem.
