Many thanks to Mr.Woo for his suggestions. I went through the achives; all of Shrike and Psyche, back to February, and didn't see anything on this topic. My Microtek Scanmaker 5700 was detected at the USB with the Windows compatible driver installed, but has never been detected at the USB in 7.3, 8.0, 9, nor MD 9 or 9.1. USBview on Shrike didn't detect it. The only bright spot is that KUDZU noticed and configured the SCSI PCI card with the scanner plugged in and running. So I guess it's down to loading the scanner as a module. I would appreciate any help you could give me as to how to go about this.
