And since the post-install script for RP8 tries to launch it, you may need
to define $LD_ASSUME_KERNEL for the 'rpm -i' command as well.  That seemed
to help when I tried it.

The RP8 plugin probably won't work anyway since it requires
$LD_ASSUME_KERNEL and you can't set that for a plugin.  (Please correct me
if that's not so.)
