No, I don't get that.

But, when xpdf is started from a command line, I get an error in the terminal:

Warning: Color name "#c0c0c0
 " is not defined

Note the funny wrap as if there's an extra space and maybe a CR someplace.

Only the left button and wheel do anything and both seem normal.

In RH 8.0 the right mouse button would display a menu; in RH9 my right button does nothing.

Seems like it's broken, but we have different symptoms.
