Keep in mind that doing this -- removing the __db.* files -- is almost
always good enough to recover from the hung rpm situation.  You really
should not have to do this next step:

> [root@xxxxx dev]# rpm --rebuilddb
> error: db4 error(16) from dbenv->remove: Device or resource busy

As others have said, this "error" message is ugly but does not actually
mean anything is wrong.  Especially since there was probably no need to
run that command anyway.
