Problem with mounting CD-ROM on RH9

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Greetings,

I am installing RedHat 9 on a dual-processor VAlinux system
(among other machines).  The install seems to go flawlessly;
however, when I attempt to mount a cd-rom by the command

    mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

the system waits a few seconds, displays the message

    hda: (_ide_dma_test_irq) called while not waiting

and reboots itself. I attempted booting with the
uniprocessor version of the kernel, with the same result.
None of the other systems I have installed RH9 on from these
CD's has exhibited this problem. Has anyone else seen this
kind of behavior, and is there a cure and/or workaround?

Thanks in advance,

H. D. Wiebe
