Parallel Creative Webcam II

Hi,

I have rescued an old parallel Creative Labs Webcam II. I have no
problems with it on Windows, but it's impossible to use it on my
recently installed Shrike. I am using gnomemeeting, but I get less than
1 fps (something like 1 frame every 5 seconds). Furthermore, I cannot
work with any other application, as it blocks the PC for some seconds,
the mouse is continuously jumping,...
I have tried to setup in the BIOS the parallel port as ECP, EPP, both of
them, normal, without any success. I am using modules, and I have added
in the modules.conf the following lines:

options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=7 dma=1
alias char-major-81 cpia_pp

Kernel is 2.4.20-8

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.
