DHCP assigned host name

My notebook has 2 ethernet devices;
  eth0 (built-in): RTL 8139 (compatible)
  eth1 (PCMCIA) : orinoco_cs wireless

The notebook is connected either using eth0 or eth1 to
a wireless router (depends if large amounts of data
needs to be transferred). This router is a DHCP server
which returns based on the MAC address an IP address
and hostname.

When connected to the router, using eth0 the hostname
is passed and visible on the login screen and command
line prompt. Using eth1 the hostname is not passed
(this worked fine in a Mandrake 9.1 install) any more.

Besides the fact that the hostname using eth1
(wireless) is not passed, the ntpd is not started
succesfully. Only after a manual /etc/init.d/ntpd
restart ntp is working.

Any hints, ideas which could solve the above eth1
issues are very welcome :^)

Rgds,
Marc
