In RH8 and higher, you need only use Red Hat's mouse config tools and
choose "PS/2" mouse.  When you restart X, the PS/2 mouse should work,
and any USB mouse you plug in before or during the X session should
work.  The USB mouse and keyboard should work hotplug.
