Ah, I spoke too soon. This was from the laptop to the server and when I looked into it further that particular issues seems to be a DHCP issue there. Copies between two hardwired desktops and from and to the server seem to be working properly now.

Any idea why my DHCP server, which is configured for 48 hour leases, is giving my laptops only 13-16 second leases??? That at least seems to be the problem on the laptops.

I have five RH9 machines here and most can't do any significant file transfers over NFS without problems. I usually end up using sftp for big files.
