Just go here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html and click on either column for "Linux RPM in self-extracting file": JRE if you just want to run Java apps, SDK if you want to create them. Tom P.S. I've noticed no problems running the 1.4.2 beta (substitute 1.4.2 in the above URL), and it seems a bit faster than 1.4.1 (which is faster than 1.3.1, which was faster than...).
