still happeneing, I would love someone to enlighten me as to what this error means...

Happens after all packages have completed installation.
No rpm processes running.
I have just updated (and restarted) - popt1.8-1, rpm4.2-1, (build, devel, and python)
Error still occurring...
That error is harmless if it's not causing rpm to hang - but with the version of rpm shipped with RH8/9, that was most often accompanied by a permanent hang of rpm -
