Thank you, my mistake.  I bruised myself jumping to conclusions...

When I selected one of the movie trailers on quicktime.com I got xine
but no movie.  Indeed, after your note, I tried xine on some quicktime
files and it seemed to work.  Thus, something else was keeping xine
from showing the movie trailers.
