How to allow non-root users to run mailq?

Is there a 'formal' way to let non-root users run mailq? I'm currently doing it by making the sppl/mqueue dir. readable.

I saw in the sendmail docs. that there's a 'don't let normal users run mailq' security option, but that doesn't seem to be in place, and there's no "DO let ..." opposite equivalent.
