No, it should be enabled.


The bigger question is what exactly is it that you're having problems with? Give us a bit more to work with here. From the look of the lines below, you have a problem in your config file, in which case it looks like you probably have to fix that before suexec is even coming into play... Just saying "I'm having problems using suexec" doesn't make it very easy to help. Explain what you're trying to do and give us some context.

If by chance you're trying to run a setuid perl cgi, double-check that you installed perl-suidperl-5.8.0-88.i386.rpm.

[root@xxxx httpd]# /usr/sbin/httpd -t
Syntax error on line 1046 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
User cannot occur within <VirtualHost> section

You might also try including line 1046 of httpd.conf, and a few lines around it in your next message; that might help shed some light.
