could be but as most Security/System admins I have the way I prefer. If
I have all the httpd items under /www then i fell it is easier to
manage.  I have never used the RPM's or installed apache with RH.

This was an excerpt on a paper that I wrote for installing Snort IDS on
a redhat box.
