Haave you tried setting the monitor type in redhat-config-xfree86 to the dell 1600x ? thats what mine is set to and it works without a hitch. for somereason dell lcd's are not detected by redhat and you have to specify them goto the manufactuer select dell and then select laptop 1600x from memory.
