This works, but with the added step of having to extract the spec file. 
with the "-tb" option I don't have to do that.

Haven't had to do that in a while (the author for a time distributed devel
versions in tar.bz2, but had the spec looking for a tar.gz).  As I said,
it works fine when using "-tb".
