You want to type fn then f7. You probably also want to turn up the
resolution so that this stops being a problem. It may also require some
mode lines in the "Monitor" part of your xconfig. Such as:

ModeLine     "1400x1050" 108.0 1400 1448 1462 1688 1050 1050 1053 1066
ModeLine     "1280x1024" 108.0 1400 1448 1462 1688 1050 1050 1053 1066
ModeLine     "1024x768" 65.0 1024 1048 1065 1344 768 770 776 806
