I was using gnome and opened CD Writer (cdroast?) after putting in the cd-rw cd. It would always pause a while, then I never really could do anything. And in my grub.conf there is the hdd=ide-scsi in my kernel line. Is this causing the problem? This cd-rw was always automatically detected by the installs.
