rh9 locking up

Hey, I have RH9 installed and it locks up a few minutes after boot. The
last entries in the messages log is this:

Apr 13 00:30:17 zeutrh9 kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout :
pid 19002, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Request Sense 00 00 00 40 00
Apr 13 00:30:17 zeutrh9 kernel: hdd: irq timeout: status=0xff { Busy }
Apr 13 00:30:17 zeutrh9 kernel: hdd: ATAPI reset complete
Apr 13 00:30:17 zeutrh9 kernel: hdd: irq timeout: status=0x80 { Busy }
Apr 13 00:30:17 zeutrh9 kernel: hdd: ATAPI reset complete

Redhat8 is also installed on this PC and runs without any problems. I
also ran both of the Phoebe betas, and they didn't lockup either. I
tried booting with ide=nodma and it didn't help. I also tried
disableing dma using hdparm and that didn't help either.

any ideas? I would really like to have RH9 up and running.
