Actually, you can get capital c cedilla, but you have to remove
gnome-terminal's keybinding of control-shift c <-> copy first.
Also a thought on the original problem, does changing the character
encoding (assuming you are using gnome-terminal) help? I suspect RedHat
may have standardized on UTF8, but you may be happier with something else
(the default - current locale will be set somewhere, maybe by the LANG
environment variable).
