Strange problem booting RedHat 9

Hi,

I'm experiencing a rather wierd problem. After installing redhat 9 on a fresh system (2xXeon, Aic7902), grub loads the kernel, it boots, mounts the root filesystem, frees unused kernel memory and then... nothing. it simply waits forever there.

Installation works fine, and the same symptom is experienced using the created boot disk. Going into rescue mode everything can be mounted, the files seems to be there, all init and rc files seems correct. (Another wierd thing is that chroot segfaults, is there different glibcs on the cd and on the system?)

Have anyone experienced anything like this?

Best Regards,

Stefan Görling
