Perhaps i'm missing the point here, but did you installed wxPython?
BitTorrent needs it, and i believe it's not in the RH kit.

On RH 8.0, i only downloaded the wxPython src.rpm from here
http://wxpython.org/ then rebuilt it and installed the binary.
Now BitTorrent works just fine for me, with Galeon (editing mailcap was
not enough, i had to specify the handler in Galeon when i clicked on a
.torrent file, but that's ok).
