The lock files "lock" the rpm database. For more details, have a look at: http://rpm.org/hintskinks/repairdb/ You could also try browsing: http://groups.google.com/groups?oi=djq&as_ugroup=linux.redhat.rpm > I don't know the answer to this, but I have lots of trouble with rpm > so I thought I'd just share my views. You might want to try upgrading rpm on a machine or two to see if that helps (It should): ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/test-4.1.1 Make sure you get the rpm and popt packages built for the 8.0 release. For example: ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/test-4.1.1/rpm-4.1.1-1.8x.i386.rpm Hope that helps, - -- - -Michael pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/gpgkey.txt Red Hat Linux 7.{2,3}|8.0|9 in 8M of RAM: http://www.rule-project.org/en/ - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/V+8vn/07WoAb/SsRAmIVAJ9rCnR3kYPVqM7hCdKfW0REC77cQwCgjuAT aCOoCtHJcTw59qIptZlZm+w= =PVho -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
