RPM rebuild question.

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all folks,

I have a package, say AAA-123.i386.rpm running on my OS with some
problem. Now I have downloaded a newer version, say AAA-123a.src.rpm
and want to rebuild the existing package.

1) Do I need to remove the existing package first

rpm -e AAA first

then

rpm -ivh AAA-123a.src.rpm

OR

2) keeping the existing package untouched and just do

rpm --rebuild AAA-123.src.rpm

Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

B.Regards
Stephen Liu
