Bummer.  No effect.  My only BIOS control (in PhoenixBIOS) is to turn down 
the volume to 0.  No on/off switch.

I am getting sound output for .wav file sound effects turned on in 
Preferences...Sound, and it is controlled by aumix settings.  Just can't 
get RealPlay sound or music CD sound.
