Hi all folks, KDE Desktop ==========- My Linux box without sound KStart -> Extras -> Sound & Video -> kmidi midi file continues to play but without sound KStart -> Sound & Video -> KsCD Music CD playing without sound KStart -> Sound & Video -> Volume Control Warning : Error (gnome-volume-control) I was not able to open your audio device Please check that you have permission to open /dev/mixer and make sure your have sound support complied into your kernel # ls -l /dev/mixer lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Apr 25 22:57 /dev/mixer -> /dev/mixer While login as USER Following warning displays Informational - artsmessage =========================== Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device) The sound server will continue, using the null output device I have tried On Konsole Window # setup PCI Probe Via Technology | VT8233 AC97 Audio Controller.
