Reportedly, VMware is one of the things that breaks, but the patches in
ftp://platan.vc.cvut.cz/pub/vmware/vmware-any-any-update25.tar.gz
seem to fix that issue.  I just ran VMware on a fully up2date RH8 system
and it seemed just fine.
