For
the purpose of learning Linux. I would leave the partitioning to linux. It will
create 3 partitions, 1 boot, 1 swap and the rest is for /.
RH8.0
install will automatically create the XP booting ability in GRUB, so that you
can boot back to windows if you wish. I would leave the complex HDD patitioning
till you better understand linux.
I run
a Linux RH8.0 & WinXP dual boot system here. I basically have XP on it due
to the office setup is running Win2K server (Exchange mail etc), otherwise I
would not have bothered with it.
That
is my suggestion, and others may have other opinions.
