I've been using VMWare happily on RH8.0 for a while now, although, I do not have the patch installed :-} You certainly would _not_ be able to run an existing Win2k server installation out of a VM. You will have to install a fresh one through VMWare. The entire hardware layer is abstracted and looks nothing like what the original installation was accustomed to. Trying this is essentially the same as unplugging the hard drive and plugging it into another machine with completely different hardware...
