You ahve to configure your CDROM device to use ide-scsi. Your kernel obviously has ide-scsi built in or as a module. Get the name of the CDROM device # ls -l /dev/cdrom lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Apr 15 2001 /dev/cdrom -> hdb In grub.conf duplicate your current working config with a new title. Call it somethng useful. Find the line in the duplicate config that looks like: kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.18-17.8.0 ro root=LABEL=/ hdd=ide-scsi add hdb=ide-scsi to the end of the line. Be sure to use the correct hdx entries for you system. Reboot and select the new config. If something goes wrong you can go back to the old one. - -- Stephen Carville http://www.heronforge.net/~stephen/gnupgkey.txt =========================================== The difference between robbery and taxes is simple: The first is someone threatening to hurt you if you do not give them your money.
