POP3S Problem RedHat

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

my POP3s won't work properly. Here is my config:

[root@gaia certs]# more /etc/xinetd.d/pop3s
# default: off
# description: The POP3S service allows remote users to access their mail \
# using an POP3 client with SSL support such as fetchmail.
service pop3s
{
        socket_type             = stream
        wait                    = no
        user                    = root
        server                  = /usr/sbin/ipop3d
        log_on_success  += HOST DURATION
        log_on_failure  += HOST
        disable                 = no
}

and

[root@gaia certs]# more /etc/pam.d/pop
#%PAM-1.0
auth       required     /lib/security/pam_stack.so service=system-auth
account    required     /lib/security/pam_stack.so service=system-auth

I tried to fetch my mail with eudora and evolution using pop3s. Always
the same effect:

Mar  8 02:03:08 gaia ipop3d[21881]: pop3 service init from 192.168.10.25
Mar 8 02:03:08 gaia ipop3d[21881]: Command stream end of file while reading line user=??? host=devil.universe [192.168.10.25]

I use my normal computer login and password (which I entirely use for
ssh as well e.g.) for authentification. I didn't change any files from
the imap package except the pop3s in /etc/xinetd.d : disable = no
Are there any other things which are important. Shall I create
somewhere a new certificate or somthing else? I thought that it should
work directly after activating pop3s with disable=no ...

Cheers, Duncan
