Sure it does.  Here is my ~/.Xclients-default file
/usr/bin/sim &
kopete &
kmail &
/opt/phoenix/phoenix &
xscreensaver -no-splash &
exec fluxbox

All of the above things will launch once fluxbox is up and running.
