You need to read the release notes. mp3 capabilities were removed from RH8.0 b/c of licensing uncertainties. You can download the xmms-mp3 rpm from freshrpms.net to restore mp3 functionality to xmms.I have problems with XMMS and RH8. The xmms returns "segmentation fault" error.
