These normally show up as SCSI devices.....

Have a look in your /var/log/messages file...

You should see something similar to:

Jan 28 21:00:32 misty kernel: USB Mass Storage support registered.
Jan 28 21:00:56 misty kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi1,
channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Jan 28 21:00:56 misty kernel: SCSI device sda: 507904 512-byte hdwr
sectors (260 MB)
Jan 28 21:00:56 misty kernel: sda: Write Protect is off
Jan 28 21:00:56 misty kernel:  sda: sda1

Assuming that is what you get then do....

mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/mntpoint  or whatever...
