Hello, running RH 8.0, with the stock kernel and XFree86. > rpm -q kernel kernel-2.4.18-14 > rpm -q XFree86 XFree86-4.2.0-72 I got the Logitech Cordless Elite, after using the Logitech iTouch for a while. I also switched from PS/2 to USB interface for the keyboard. First the good news: the following xmodmap keysyms work with the Elite keyboard. They are definitely different from the old iTouch keyboard, even when the key is labeled the same on the keyboard. keycode 166 = XF86AudioMute keycode 129 = XF86AudioMedia ! this is the nice volume wheel keycode 158 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume keycode 165 = XF86AudioLowerVolume keycode 162 = XF86AudioNext keycode 164 = XF86AudioPrev keycode 159 = XF86AudioPlay keycode 151 = XF86AudioStop keycode 236 = XF86Mail keycode 130 = XF86HomePage keycode 230 = XF86Favorites keycode 229 = XF86Search keycode 223 = XF86Standby keycode 233 = XF86Start keycode 234 = XF86Back The scroll wheel of the keyboard works great, sending mouse events for buttons 4 and 5. Very nice. So far, so good. Now the problems start. - the F-lock key does nothing except disable the F keys. It seems, based on the labels on those keys, that F-lock would make them send alternate keycodes, but no such luck. - pushing the keyboard scroll wheel does nothing (it would be nice if it did) - The following keys send mouse button events, according to xev: messenger = button 1, webcam = button 3, shopping and itouch = button 2 I would like to get as many keys back as possible. I was hoping to avoid recompiling the kernel and XFree86, but I'll do it if there's better support for that keyboard in the newer releases. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
