Denise....

It sounds like you have the expertise I need!!!!!!

Once I get it up/running, the system will be ok. I'll eventually bring
someone on board who'll be able to fine tune it.....

How do I get in touch with you.... You didn't provide your off line
information!!!

Thanks

What do you want to accomplish with your CVS installation?

I have a working CVS installation at RH 8. My installation is okay for
smallish setups, but I wouldn't want to run sourceforge on it :-O

Mine is of the variety:
 - ssh-tunnelling only (I dumped xinetd-initiated pserver some time back)
 - NO anonymous access ... which is to say that the CVS server will
    authenticate them.
 - for so-called 'outsiders' who do not have a login account here I create
dummy accounts without a 'real' login and I hand-edit their ssh
    environment.

I use /etc/groups and 'set group ID' on directory permissions to
control access to various projects.

The hard part of this is helping people generate and edit their ssh
authorized_keys file with the correct incantation.. I usually just end up
doing it myself for them.

Contact me off-list if this sort of cvs tree is what you are interested
in, and I'll try to help you create one.

 cheers,
   denice
