You have two choices. You can either downgrade the kernel to one from
RedHat 8.0, like 2.4.18-19.8.0, or you can patch the nvidia driver to
compile against the newer kernel and use export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
at the top of /etc/X11/prefdm and in your profile. I am not sure this
works with Phoebe2, but it does work with the Phoebe1. I would suggest
you go with the first open since it is easier and it works better.
