I have a Compaq DL380 G3 with a Compaq Dual wide Ultra 3 scsi controller. (Compaq's OEM version of the 3960D Ultra 160) Connected to this is a nStor raid array. The array disks are divided into 8 sets 4 disks for 514 GB each. Each of the 8 raid groups have their own LUN all on the same scsi id. My problem is that reads are ok but writes to the array take forever. Some of the arrays (not always lun 0) write a 1.1 GB file in 60 seconds other array take 14 minutes. A simple remove of this large file can hang the scsi system for 2 or 3 minutes. This is RH8.0 2.4.18-14smp with version 6.2.28 aic7xxx driver. This kernel hangs with aic7xxx 6.2.8. The machine passes it's diagnostics and is capable of fsck-ing all 8 raid groups in parallel (2500 I/Os per second) 4TB. The arrays are mounted noatime and data=writeback. But this appears to be a driver problem. I'm tending to think that I'm out of some resource due to the large number of lun on a single scsi id. As a side note. This configuration worked on a DL380-G1 with RH7.1 Help! --Ethan VanMatre -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
