I moved it last night until I had time to check it out.

[admin@www admin]$ ls -alh /var/log/last*
-r-------- 1 root root 143K Jan 24 07:59 /var/log/lastlog
-r-------- 1 root root 18M Jan 23 20:22 /var/log/lastlog.1

[admin@www admin]$ du -h /var/log/lastlog.1
48K /var/log/lastlog.1

[admin@www admin]$ du -h /var/log/lastlog
12K /var/log/lastlog

Somehow 48K <> 18M and 143K <> 12K; sorta inconsistent?

Which is correct?

Notwithstanding this difference, where in the logrotate scheme of things does
lastlog get rotated?
