I did read the thread, but I didn't see such a message.  I see it in
the archives, but I didn't see it in my inbox.  I hope you can find it
in your heart to forgive me for missing two lines from a message from
this mailing list...  I mean, obviously, this list IS my life, after
all...  [In case you missed it, yeah, that's sarcasm.]

Look dude, I didn't insult you, and there's no call for you to insult
me.  My reply to you was nothing but courteous and polite, and I
expect the same in response.  There are lots of people out there who
would flame you for doing something like that, as ridiculous as that
is.  I simply wanted to make you aware of the issue, and explain why
it is an issue, in large part to afford you the opportunity to save
yourself some grief at the hands of such people.  However, if you
insist on responding to such messages by being insulting, then you can
feel free to bite me.

It is absolutely beyond me why people insist on taking offense to
being informed of local custom/protocol, or being presented with an
alternative viewpoint.  Heaven forbid someone should actually find
such things helpful.  I think maybe people need more vacation time,
or something...
