Mozilla 1.2.1 fails to start

Folks,

I have a strange problem. I updated RH8 to the latest packages
and to Mozilla 1.2.1 xft (mozilla-1.2.1-0_rh8_xft). All seemed OK
until this morning. When I went to start mozilla, it would not start initially
due to a lock file (dead link in my profile). I deleted the link.
I next tried to start mozilla and it never came up. I didn't receive
any diagnostics or error messages. It would run mozilla-bin
for while (seen via top or ps), then the mozilla-bin would die w/o core,
warning, or any error messages.

An attempt to run with debug flags displayed no informaiton. Mozilla-bin
just died after a short period of time (several 10's of seconds).

If I tried starting it again while it was "trying" to start (mozilla-bin
was running), I got the dialog indicating that that my profile was busy
and prompting to create a new mozilla profile. I created a temp profile
and that profile started properly. This leads me to believe that
my fonts, etc. are OK and the problem is with my main profile.

Of course, the main profile has my bookmarks, mail, mail preferences,
etc.

Also, root can also run mozilla without problems.

Is there something I can check or change to find what happened
to my mozilla? Can I delete a file or some settings to get it back
running?
Thanks for the help,
