As a conclusion; If you already have partition(s) which are JFS and/or Reiserfs from a previous operating system, such as Mandrake, SuSE and vice versa (these distros do support installion of reiserfs and jfs filesystems) Then RedHat's installer Anaconda can initialize them and reformat them to ext2 and/or ext3 (with losing existing data of course). So the only way that RedHat supports reiserfs, jfs is the discovery of them and the duty is the reformat them. Red Hat chooses ext3/2 for its proven stability and wide-use. Reiserfs (i did not test v.4 by the way) is not so stable and can cause loss of data, its approximately same for the jfs (which is more stable than reiserfs i think) Considering these, Red Hat does not support installation with reiserfs and jfs and also xfs. This is my knowledge which i grapped from the discussion list of both Psyche and other older versions of RedHat.
