I can not believe some of the suggestions that redhat is incompetent because they did not provide a shortcut to this or that program on your desktop.... And then to suggest they should offer different distros w/ diff shortcuts for diff programs. this is the distro w/ a shortcut to gimp.. this distro has a shortcut to xview.. this distro.. i think you see my point. anyways, to answer what i understand to be the original question: Right click your desktop Left click "New Launcher" In the Pop up dialog: Name: Name it Anything. Command: xkill Click the icon button . In new dialog box: Select desired Icon. Click "OK" Click "OK" in the first dialog box. Enjoy your new desktop link. PS - RedHat is doing many things right, i do not know why some people insist on bashing them. one person wants this, another that. Isn't that why half of us run this OS? No matter what they choose to do, some will get something they wanted, some will loose something they wanted. dw > --__--__-- > > Message: 11 > Date: Thu, 26 Dec 2002 12:48:26 -0800 > From: Jesse Keating <hosting@j2solutions.net> > To: psyche-list@redhat.com > Subject: Re: Why no 'Kill App'?? > Organization: j2Solutions > Reply-To: psyche-list@redhat.com > > On Thu, 26 Dec 2002 13:15:13 -0800 (PST) > "David Durst" <ddurst@larubber.com> wrote: > > > Wouldn't it be simplier if RH came out w/ multiple distros for > > different types of users? > > Well, if the user isn't a newbie, he/she should be competent enough to > use a different window manager.
