Updated my kernel this morning in response to the Redhat Alert Notification.
After updating and rebooting the system, GRUB no longer works. The
system goes through the boot process and then halts with the word 'GRUB'
displayed on the screen. The system will not go any further.
I am able to boot with my boot diskette -- thank goodness I made one.
But I don't have access to GRUB that way. I do get the system running.
The alert notification now displays a message: 'Your sysetm is currently
running kernel-2.4.18-14 but the newest installed kernel is
kernel-2.4.18-19.8.0. It is recommended that you reboot at the first
opportunity to test this new kernel.'
OK I did that and that's when the trouble started.
Any ideas?
