Hi, all. Good morning(from Japan). I installed imap-2001a-15.i386.rpm on my RedHat Linux box, and using it, I had succeed to built POP3 server. So I tried to built also APOP server. I wrote the username and password in "/etc/cram-md5.pwd" and set the permission 600, but it not works as below; ------------------------------------------ $ telnet server 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to server. Escape character is '^]'. +OK POP3 v2001.78rh server ready <3bc.3dfe7a00@server> USER username +OK User name accepted, password please PASS password -ERR Bad login QUIT +OK Sayonara Connection closed by foreign host. ---------------------------------------------- I can see "<3bc.3dfe7a00@server>", so probably the APOP service is working, but I can't login. And this time, normal POP3 service also didn't worked ( this seems so natural but I was at a loss). After all, I deleted the file "/etc/cram-md5.pwd" and restarted xinetd, so I could IMAP/POP3 service normally. Please tell me how to build the APOP server using RedHat Linux 8.0.
