I am not complaining about it, since I know RHL 8.0 is an unsupported
version, I just wanted to hear comments about the problem and possible
solutions to it.

I will look at the config perl script, to see if I can find anything
about it, but in a really quickly way:

[root@imoqland root]# cat `which vmware-config.pl` | grep 486
[root@imoqland root]# which vmware-config.pl
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl

So, it should have been calling other script or misidentifying the
system.

Anyway, thanks for your comments, I hope somebody else who have actually
tried it have some solution ;).
