How to track this recurring error thru the maze of init scripts. I see these on bootup and they can be reproduced by running a status check on any service, like: service sendmail status /etc/init.d/sendmail: line 2: HOSTNAME:sbcglobal.net: command not found sendmail (pid 543 533) is running... The reference is always to line 2 of and init script. But the entry isn't found at that location. Apparently it is a sourced file but I can't figure out which one. The actual data comes from /etc/sysconfig/network which shows: NETWORKING=yes HOSTNAME:sbcglobal.net GATEWAY=192.168.0.1 Some how the VARIABLE value is being seen as a command and of course when attempt is made to execute, it cannot be found. Some of the sourced files are /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions and /etc/sysconfig/network I was unable to trace the source of the problem in either. -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
