More importantly, has anyone else used > the Plextor 40x12x40 CD-RW drive successfully without such problems?P I have that drive and it plays audio CDs just fine (and I haven't yet come across a CD-R/RW that it won't read). In dmesg, my drive is identified as follows: scsi3 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-R PX-W4012A Rev: 1.02 Like Klaasjan Brand replied, it's more likely to be a drive problem than an OS problem. Check cabling/jumpers, clean the lens, see if there's a firmware update available, or take it back to the store if nothing helps. -- Emanuel Mair ___________________________________________________ e@mair.com Support free hardware choice and save AmigaOS! mair@medstud.gu.se http://AmigaPOP.8bit.co.uk .-. .- -.. .. --- -....- .- -.- - .. ...- .. - .-.- - ...-.- -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
